Red Bull’s ‘flying finish’ poster banned

♦ A Red Bull advert that suggests the drink gives people such good focus and concentration that they can finish work at 4pm has been banned.

The poster, which appeared on the London Underground, was banned for implying it can increase focus and concentration. It stated: “The secret to finishing early … Because to leap every hurdle a hectic day brings, you just need to know: Red Bull gives you wiiings ... For a flying 4pm finish on 14th September visit Redbull.co.uk/4pmfinish.”

A reader complained that it implied that the caffeinated energy drink had a beneficial effect on health, in particular focus and concentration. The Advertising Standards Authority upheld the complaint.
