Freezing weather in Syria kills 15 children

At least 15 children have died in cold weather while seeking refuge in a Syrian camp under US military control.

Unicef said eight died in Rukban camp in the south and seven perished on the journey there from the jihadist bastion of Hajin in the north. The camp borders Jordan, which denies refugees entry for fear of Isil infiltrators.
