Crushed pupil ‘was a sparkle in our school’

Tributes have been paid to a nineyear-old boy who died after being crushed under a school locker.

Leo Latifi had been at a swimming club at Great Baddow High School in Chelmsford, Essex, when he became trapped on Thursday evening. Maria Rumsey, head teacher at St Michael’s Primary School where Leo was a pupil, said: “Leo was a sparkle in our school. His face lit up the classroom.”
