Zimbabwe police ban demonstration

Police have banned an anti-government demonstration in Bulawayo planned for today by Zimbabwe’s main opposition party, saying it was likely to result in “public disorder”.

Police banned another demonstration by the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) in Harare on Friday, when they fired tear gas at opposition supporters and arrested dozens of people.
