New Zealand measles cases pass 1,000 mark

Jacinda Ardern, the prime minister of New Zealand, has warned people who have not been inoculated not to travel to Auckland after health officials announced a measles outbreak.

A total of 1,051 cases were yesterday confirmed in New Zealand since January, with some 90 per cent found in and around Auckland, the country’s biggest city.

Authoritie­s are urging anyone who feels sick to “stay away from work, school or public places, to prevent putting other people at risk”, the BBC reported.
