Man wins botched circumcision payout
A husband has been paid £125,000 after a botched hospital circumcision left him unable to have sex.
The man, 63, underwent a circumcision at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation in 2012. Too much skin was removed and his penis ended up “buried” in his body, leaving him unable to have sex or direct the flow of urine.
Shahedal Bari, medical director of the trust, said: “I sincerely hope this settlement will compensate him for what has happened.”
The surgeon is subject to a hearing to decide if he is fit to practise.
