YOUR NEW SEASON COLOUR PALETTE

Across the pond, fashion editors took the change in season quite literally, opting for head-to-toe autumnal hues.

Autumn leaves

Victoria Barbara’s orange outfit makes for a striking look, but if it’s too outré for you, pair a pumpkin blouse with a denim A-line skirt and tan boots, or rust trousers with a navy or grey knit. Silk blouse, £175 (beulahlondon. com); Trousers, £49.99 (mango.

com)

Cream of the crop

Previously, a full ivory look was only for the brave (and careful) but, handily, this season’s leather (and faux-leather) trend renders your outfit wipeclean. Marina Ingvarsson punctuated her look with white ankle boots, but black would look just as good. Frankie Shop faux leather shirt, £165 (neta-porter.com); Pleated skirt, £69 (arket.com)

Chocolate truffle

Camel and brown are likely already staples in your autumn wardrobe, but to update them for the new season, make like Linda Tol and wear them together for a pleasing blended look. Trench coat, £110 (stories.com); Corduroy skirt, £110 (toa.st)

Full-bodied bordeaux

If you’re after an autumnal shade that isn’t as ubiquitous as camel or navy, look to burgundy, which is just as chic. Megan Reynolds paired her leather dress with snake-print boots, ticking another trend box. Leather boots, £198 (boden. co.uk); Annabelle dress, £145
