Hong Kong bid to buy LSE set to be rejected

The Daily Telegraph - - Front page -

The London Stock Exchange looks set to spurn a surprise £30billion bid by the Hong Kong stock exchange, amid concern over political and regulatory obstacles and lukewarm investor support. Shares closed 5.9per cent higher at £72.06 – some distance from the cash and shares offer of £83.61, suggesting scepticism about the deal, which could also pose a headache for a government trying to quash concerns about the influence of China on British business following the Huawei row.
