THE Duke and Duchess of Sussex have gone to Rome for the wedding of fashion designer Misha Nonoo, as they take a last-minute break ahead of their official tour in Africa.

The couple flew to Italy yesterday on a commercial flight and are understood to be travelling without their baby, Archie Mountbatten-windsor.

Ms Nonoo, who collaborated with the Duchess on her capsule wardrobe for the Smart Works charity, is to marry Michael Hess, an oil tycoon. She has been credited with introducing the American former actress to Prince Harry after setting up a blind date in 2016. She has always declined to confirm any involvement.

Last week, the Duchess was photographed hugging Ms Nonoo, who was previously married to the Duke’s friend Alexander Gilkes, at the launch of the Smart Works collection.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are also expected at the wedding, along with celebrities including Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and Karlie Kloss, according to the New York Post. Part of the event is reported to be at Cinecittà, Italy’s biggest film studio. Buckingham Palace declined to comment.

It is the latest in a series of overseas trips this summer for the Sussexes, who previously enjoyed holidays in Ibiza and Nice. The trips saw the couple criticised for their use of private jets, while the Duke campaigns on environmental issues. On Monday, the Duke, Duchess and Archie arrive in Cape Town on a 10-day tour of South Africa, Botswana, Angola and Malawi.
