Repeat performance

Sir – I love kippers (Letters, September 19), but they do tend to repeat on you for the rest of the day.

However, when I was staying in a hotel on the Isle of Man, the waiter suggested putting marmalade on the fish before eating it. I am happy to report that it actually worked. So I no longer hesitate to choose this most delicious treat. Anne Watts
