Harris’ famous kick immortalised in bronze

Australian rules footballer Tayla Harris hit headlines around the world in March when her iconic kicking image was swamped by misogynistic online trolls.

The infamous photo was last week immortalised in a bronze statue in Melbourne’s Federation Square, where it will remain throughout the

AFL finals period.

“This status represents #morethanakick, it symbolises a moment in time that can be remembered as a catalyst for change, a stand against online harassment and a reminder to women and girls that we deserve these opportunities,” Harris wrote on Twitter.
