-

Great Britain v Chile, Olympic qualifier, Lee Valley Nov 2-3

Great Britain’s women’s hockey team have to beat Chile in a two-legged tie on home turf for the chance to defend their Olympic crown in Toyko next summer. Chile, ranked 18th in the world, are South America’s second-best women’s side but have never qualified for a World Cup. Britain have been on a dismal run since clinching gold at the Rio Games, including a heavy 8-0 defeat by Holland, now European and world champions, in August. TV: BT Sport

England v Germany, friendly, Wembley Nov 9

The Lionesses ended a five-match winless streak with a single-goal victory against Portugal this month, and Phil Neville’s side will be desperate to put in a strong performance against the world’s second-ranked team. England are set to play in front of a sell-out crowd – 90,000 tickets have been sold for the match. The previous record for an England home game was 45,619 – in an unpromising omen it was a 3-0 defeat by the same opponents back in 2014. TV: BBC One
