Tribunal reserves ruling in Ahmed’s BBC pay case

-

The equal pay tribunal brought by presenter Samira Ahmed against the BBC has ended.

The ruling of the central London employment tribunal has been reserved and is set to be published at a later date, according to the BBC.

Ms Ahmed, who presents Newswatch, is seeking nearly £700,000 from the BBC in an equal pay claim. She questioned why she was paid less than Jeremy Vine earned while he was presenting Points Of View, a job she says is similar to her own. He got £3,000 per episode compared with her £440.
