Relief for neighbours as magistrates pull the plug on gardener’s 4am chainsaw sessions

-

♦ A neighbour who used a chainsaw and leaf blowers at 4am to wake up residents in a property dispute has been told to only use them during the day.

Michael Hall, 65, was given a restraining order for two years that prohibits him from pointing CCTV cameras at his neighbour’s family home and using noisy electrical equipment between 9pm and 8am.

Timothy Royle, Hall’s neighbour, called the police after keeping a meticulous diary of his antics.

Stockport magistrates court heard hostility between the pair began over a dispute regarding a shared wall. The court heard Hall would use a chainsaw to cut his hedges during unsocial hours and use a lawnmower and leaf blower at night.

He was filmed using his noisy leaf blower at 8.15am on Boxing Day and 8am on a Bank Holiday Monday.

This was in breach of an order placed upon him by magistrates in April.

It has now been extended for a further two years.
