BUCKINGHAM PALACE November 7th

Major General Benjamin Bathurst was received by The Queen today upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Major General Commanding Household Division when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

The following members of Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms were received by The Queen: Colonel Christophe­r Mackenzieb­eevor who delivered up his Stick of Office upon his retirement as Lieutenant, Lieutenant Colonel John Kaye who delivered up his Stick of Office upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Clerk of the Cheque and Adjutant and received his Stick of Office upon his appointmen­t as Lieutenant, and Colonel Peter Flach who received his Stick of Office upon his appointmen­t as Clerk of the Cheque and Adjutant.

The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investitur­e at Buckingham Palace this morning.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, World Resources Institute, this afternoon attended a Meeting of the Food and Land Use Coalition at the Royal Society, Carlton House Terrace, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lordlieute­nant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa).

His Royal Highness later held a Meeting at Clarence House with the Sustainabl­e Markets’ Council.

The Prince of Wales this evening held a Dinner at Clarence House for the Sustainabl­e Markets’ Council.

KENSINGTON PALACE November 7th

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this morning attended the launch of the National Emergencie­s Trust at St Martinin-the-fields, Trafalgar Square, London WC2, and were received by the Lord Dannatt (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness, Patron, London’s Air Ambulance during the Charity’s Thirtieth Anniversar­y, this evening attended a Gala Ball at Rosewood London, 252 High Holborn, London WC1, to mark the finale of the “30 Years Saving Lives” campaign and was received by Colonel Jane Davis (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Duchess of Cambridge this afternoon attended a Meeting with the BBC Children’s and Education’s team at Old Broadcasti­ng House, Portland Place, London W1.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, afterwards attended a Meeting with the Lord Hall of Birkenhead (Director General, the British Broadcasti­ng Corporatio­n) at Old Broadcasti­ng House. The Duke of York, Grand President, Royal Commonweal­th Ex-services League, this afternoon received General the Lord Richards of Herstmonce­ux (Deputy Grand President).

His Royal Highness later visited Kidscan - Children’s Cancer Research, Alumni House, Salford.

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, Chetham’s School of Music, this evening attended the Fiftieth Anniversar­y Gala Dinner at the Stoller Hall, Hunts Bank, Manchester.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, afterwards held a Meeting for the Dystrophic Epidermoly­sis Bullosa Research Associatio­n.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Meningitis Now, this afternoon received Mr Alistair Irvine upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Chairman and Mr Andrew Fletcher upon assuming the appointmen­t.

The Duke of Gloucester, Honorary Air Marshal, Royal Air Force, this morning officially opened the Headquarte­rs of 388 (City of Stokeon-trent) Squadron, RFCA Centre, Martin Leake House, Waterloo Road, Cobridge, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Staffordsh­ire (Mr Ian Dudson).

His Royal Highness this afternoon presented The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation to Synectics Solutions Limited, Burslem, Staffordsh­ire, and officially opened the Synectics Innovation Room.

The Duke of Gloucester later visited the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Bethesda Street, Stoke-on-trent, Staffordsh­ire.

His Royal Highness afterwards officially opened Staffordsh­ire University Smart Zone, College Road, Stoke-on-trent.
