Necking’s enough
sir – The only sex education lesson (Letters, November 16) at my girls’ grammar school in the Sixties was taken by an older teacher. She asked us to write our questions down and put them in a box. She then picked them out, one by one, and said to each: “I’m not answering that.”
Her only advice was: “Don’t let them get below the neck.”

sir – At my convent, the nearest we got to a “sex” talk came from one of the lovely Irish nuns, who cautioned us: “Girls, you must never, ever take off your shoes and go dancing in the dark.”
