‘Get a grip on racism,’ Premier League told

No10 has told the Premier League to get a grip on the hate-crime crisis afflicting English football if the game is to avoid government intervention. Whitehall is ready to intervene, the Prime Minister’s official spokesman said, following ugly scenes at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. As well as alleged monkey noises aimed at Antonio Rüdiger on Sunday, it emerged that a Chelsea supporter had been arrested over a separate allegation of abuse aimed at Son Heung-min.
