Met officer appeals child abuse image sentence
A senior female Metropolitan police officer found guilty of possessing a child abuse image has launched an appeal, the Crown Prosecution Service have confirmed.
Supt Novlett Robyn Williams was found guilty last month after a trial at the Old Bailey after her sister sent her the video clip, which she didn’t report.
She was ordered to carry out 200 hours’ unpaid work and register as a sex offender.
The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed it had received “initial notification” that Williams had lodged an appeal against her sentence.
