Operation Kipion, Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean

Crew members of HMS Montrose are serving in the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean over the festive period. They are involved in Operation Kipion, which aims to ensure the safe flow of oil and goods through the region. Lt-cdr Charli Martin, left, Weapons Engineer Officer, said she will miss her two children but “being away during Christmas creates a different environment which allows me to get to know my engineers better”. Chief Petty Officer Kevin Hewson, right, said he was looking forward to continuing the Royal Navy tradition in which officers serve Christmas lunch to the crew.
