Always ready to serve How the Armed Forces will be spending their Christmas

It may be Christmas but Britain’s skies still need to be protected every minute of every day. Forming part of the Quick Reaction Alert at RAF Coningsby, Lincs, is a flight lieutenant, who has chosen to remain anonymous, of 3 Fighter Squadron. He is pictured, left, beside his Typhoon aircraft. He says he would normally spend Christmas with his parents, wife and son, but this year “while we’re at immediate notice to scramble, we create our own version of Christmas with a turkey dinner, Queen’s Speech and James Bond film”.
