Go green and reuse wrapping paper
Christmas wrapping paper should be saved and used next year to cut waste, an environment minister said.
As the Environment Agency and Defra released a list of ways to have a more eco-friendly Christmas, Rebecca Pow said: “By making a few small changes – buying items with less packaging, cooking up delicious dinners from your leftover turkey, saving your wrapping paper – we can all enjoy a greener Christmas to help us save money and the planet.”
Government waste-reducing tips include freezing leftovers, contacting your local Reuse Network to redistribute old chairs and unwanted furniture, and recycling or replanting the Christmas tree.
