Passengers halt runaway tram

Passengers on a German tram forced their way into the cab to halt it after the driver passed out.

They called an emergency line in the early hours of Sunday to report that they couldn’t get the driver to respond after the tram skipped stops in Bonn.

They smashed a window and, following instructions, stopped the tram. The driver, 47, was released from hospital yesterday.
