The truth about sex

-

sir – To read (report, December 23) that a transgender female who says she is still biologically male has been accused of “hate speech” for wearing a T-shirt proclaiming “Trans women are men. Get over it!”, makes me suspect I have missed Christmas and time-travelled to April 1.

sir – I am confused by the case of Maya Forstater, who lost her job for stating that sex is a biological fact and has had an employment judge rule against her (report, December 20).

Sex is genetically determined, certainly in humans, and cannot be changed without genetic intervention, of which we are incapable.

It reminds me of the concern expressed by a teacher to my daughter because her young son was telling other pupils that Father Christmas is not real. My daughter’s response was that she could hardly tell him off for speaking the truth. Dr MC Moore

sir – Is this a country where people are sacked for speaking the truth? A man can never be a woman: he has never gone through female puberty or menstruation, his hips are the wrong shape and he can’t bear children. CP Fish
