Foggier forecasts when you can’t see for miles
SIR – Further to Sherelle Jacobs’s article on the BBC (December 20), one has only to listen to the BBC Radio 4 weather forecast on foggy days to realise how out of touch it has become.
Why do the forecasters refer to visibility in metres, when our legal highway distance measurements are in miles, yards, feet and inches?
