SANDRINGHA­M, NORFOLK February 5th

The Queen this morning opened the new Wolferton Pumping Station, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, and was received by the Land Agent of the Sandringha­m Estate (Mr Edward Parsons), Mr Brian Long (Chairman, King’s Lynn Drainage Board) and Mr Philip Camamile (Chief Executive).

Her Majesty, having been briefed on the reconstruc­tion project and pump operations, viewed a demonstrat­ion of machinery and a display of historical items in the Control Room and met engineers, suppliers and members of staff.

The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investitur­e at Buckingham Palace this morning.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, this afternoon received Dame Amelia Fawcett (Chairman, Board of Trustees) and Mr Richard Deverell (Director).

His Royal Highness, Patron, AMAR Internatio­nal Charitable Foundation, afterwards received Members of the Yazidi Choir.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Barnardo’s, this morning visited the Trauma Informed Growth and Empowered Recovery Service in London.

Her Royal Highness, Commodore-in-chief, Naval Chaplaincy Service, this afternoon held a Reception at Clarence House.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Internatio­nal Award Foundation, this morning visited the Children’s Internatio­nal School, Plot 8 Funke Zainab Usman Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Nigeria.

His Royal Highness subsequent­ly attended a Theatre and Musical Performanc­e, followed by a Lunch and Reception, at Lagos State Waterways Authority Yard, Falomo Jetty, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The Earl of Wessex this afternoon called upon the Governor of Lagos (His Excellency Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu) at the Governor’s Office, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos.

His Royal Highness, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Internatio­nal Award Foundation, this evening attended a Dinner given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Her Excellency Ms Catriona Laing) at the Residence in Abuja.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Blind Veterans UK, this morning held a Meeting.

Her Royal Highness, Chairman, Women in Business Committee, this afternoon held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, Global Ambassador, Internatio­nal Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, this evening held a Dinner for Royal National Institute of Blind People at St James’s Palace.

The Princess Royal this morning visited The Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Centre, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Northern General Hospital, Herries Road, Sheffield, to mark its Twenty Fifth Anniversar­y, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of South Yorkshire (Mr Andrew Coombe).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Royal College of Midwives, today visited Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, Rotherham Hospital, Moorgate Road, Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
