CLARENCE HOUSE February 6th

The Prince of Wales, Royal Founding Patron, Business in the Community, this morning held a Meeting at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness, Royal Founding Patron, afterwards held a Meeting for the Profession­al Teaching Institute.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon received Mr Ben van Beurden (Chief Executive Office, Royal Dutch Shell plc), Mrs Sinead Lynch (Chairman, Shell UK Limited) and Mrs Susan Shannon (Vice President Government Relations).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Plantlife Internatio­nal, this evening held a Reception.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited HM Prison Downview, Sutton Lane, Sutton, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Surrey (Mr Michael More-molyneux).

Her Royal Highness, President, the Maggie Keswick Jencks Cancer Caring Centres Trust, afterwards visited the Maggie’s Centre, Royal Marsden Hospital, Downs Road, Sutton, and was received by Major Christophe­r Goodwin (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Internatio­nal Award Foundation, this morning visited Government Secondary School, Lugbe, Abuja, Nigeria.

His Royal Highness later called upon Mr Sunday Dare (Minister of Youth and Sports) at Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Constituti­on Avenue, Kukwaba, Abuja.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Internatio­nal Award Foundation, subsequent­ly attended a Reception for Young People who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award, at Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

His Royal Highness this afternoon departed from Nnamdi Azikiwe Internatio­nal Airport, Abuja, for Ivory Coast and was received later upon arrival at Abidjan Internatio­nal Airport by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Côte D’ivoire (Her Excellency Ms Josephine Gauld).

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Internatio­nal Award Foundation, this evening attended a Dinner given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Côte D’ivoire at the Residence.

The Princess Royal this morning visited Valeport Limited, Radcliffe House, St Peter’s Quay, Totnes, on the occasion of its Fiftieth Anniversar­y and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Devon (Mr David Fursdon).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, National Associatio­n of Official Prison Visitors, this afternoon visited HM Prison Channings Wood, Denbury, Devon.

KENSINGTON PALACE February 6th

The Duke of Gloucester, Honorary Air Commodore, No 501 (County of Gloucester) Logistics Support Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force, this morning received Squadron Leader Andrew Marshall (Officer Commanding) and Warrant Officer Alan Foley (Squadron Warrant Officer).
