Judges hit out over justice delays
Judges criticised Northumbria Police for releasing suspects “under investigation” after two men appeared in court years after their arrests.
Nathen Thompson, 30, broke a man’s cheekbone in 2017 but was not charged for almost two years, while there was a four-year delay in the case of Mark Davison, who groomed a girl. The force said Davison was bailed then “reported for summons”.
