Patients’ notes

-

sir – When people change their GP surgery, their medical notes follow them via a distribution point somewhere in Britain. According to a clinical commissioning group in Twickenham, waits of two months are not unusual. Why is this woeful process still used, especially since both surgeries in the case with which I’m concerned have computerised notes? Trying to find out who to chase is met with the “data protection” mantra, leaving those affected powerless. Bill Todd
