Emergency drop
Troops deliver a consignment of 50,000 face masks to St Thomas’s Hospital in London to help medical teams in the fight against coronavirus. Soldiers from the 101 Logistic Brigade crossed an almost deserted Westminster Bridge to make the drop-off at 6am yesterday. Brigadier Phil Prosser said: ‘The British Army soldier is a citizen soldier and is proud to be part of the nation’s response to this unprecedented challenge.’ The British military has deployed 700 personnel to help tackle coronavirus so far and will be delivering further supplies to hospitals throughout the country.
