Greta beats illness and urges people to protect those at risk

Greta Thunberg, the teenage Swedish climate activist, said on social media that she believed she had recovered from mild symptoms of Covid-19 experienced during a period of quarantine following a trip to Europe.

In an Instagram post, the 17-year-old said she suffered shivers, a sore throat, a cough and felt tired after travelling with her father, Svante, from Belgium.

She has now called on young people to protect groups at greater risk from the disease, saying that her mild symptoms are “what makes it so much more dangerous” due to the risk of passing on the virus without knowing it.

Sweden only tests patients for coronavirus if they require hospital care. Others are urged to isolate themselves and rest.
