Lavatory paper calculator works out amount needed

-

Germans are now able to use a lavatory paper calculator so shoppers can make sure they have enough to get through the coronavirus crisis.

German supermarkets have been hit by panic buying that has left the shelves stripped of lavatory rolls. The new website, blitzrechner.de, allows Germans to work out how much they really need.

Users can adjust the settings to match the number of household members and personal preferences on how much paper to use per visit.

The site reckons a normal jumbo pack of 10 rolls should see the average person through 53 days. But anyone considering stocking up in the city of Frankfurt should think twice, after local authorities ordered fines of up to €25,000 (£23,000) for hoarding.
