Yemeni children left ‘sad and depressed’ by war

-

More than half the children in Yemen say they feel sad and depressed as more than five years of war has taken a devastating toll on their mental health, Save the Children reported.

“More than half the children surveyed said they struggle with feelings of sadness and depression, with more than one in ten saying they feel that way constantly,” the charity group report stated. “Around one in five said they are always afraid and always grieving.”

The government – backed by a Saudi-led military coalition – is battling Iran-aligned Houthi rebels.
