Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution
NETFLIX
The startlingly non-pc title of this excellent documentary perfectly captures the irreverence with which it approaches its subject: the disabled rights movements in 1970s America. The film’s starting point is Camp Jened, a hippyish summer camp for disabled children, brought to life by archive footage and voice-overs from those who attended, many of whom went on to lead the campaign for disabled rights over the ensuing decades.
