THE GOOD NEWS RECOVERY LANDMARK IN VIRUS FIGHT
♦ Over half a million people have recovered from coronavirus, according to Worldometer.
♦ A Chicago hospital that is giving severe Covid-19 patients the medicine remdesivir has seen rapid recoveries in fever and respiratory symptoms
– nearly all were discharged in less than a week. Early results of the trial suggest that the majority of the patients involved have seen positive results.
♦ Denmark will continue to ease its lockdown restrictions on Monday by allowing certain small businesses to reopen. Earlier this week the country started to reopen its schools and day care centres.
♦ Plans have been drawn up for testing kits to be delivered to homes by Amazon and picked up an hour later. The Times reported people would receive a text message with the result within 48 hours. This has not been confirmed by the Department of Health and Social Care or Amazon.
