Divers pluck face masks and gloves from the seabed during a Côte d’azur clean-up. Conservationists warn that discarded PPE used in the fight against coronavirus is adding to ocean pollution, putting marine ecosystems at risk. In a video online, Laurent Lombard, of the Opération Mer Propre NGO, wrote that “soon there will be more masks than jellyfish in the waters of the Mediterranean”.
