Diet and exercise can reverse type 2 diabetes

Changing your diet and lifestyle is enough to reverse type 2 diabetes in a year, according to a clinical trial.

The results have shown the impact diet, exercise and weight loss can have without the need for medication.

Scientists recruited around 150 subjects with an average age of 42. After a year of healthy eating and exercise, the average participan­t had lost 26lbs (12kg) and 61 per cent were no longer diabetic. In the control group, just 12 per cent reached remission.
