Suspect in court over Christmas Eve killing

A Swedish national has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man gunned down on his doorstep in front of his family on Christmas Eve.

Anis Fouad Hemissi, 22, who was extradited to the UK from Denmark, is accused of killing fellow Swede, Flamur Beqiri, 36, outside his home in Battersea, south-west London.

He was remanded into custody at Westminster magistrates’ court before a hearing at the Old Bailey tomorrow. Hemissi was not asked to enter a plea.
