Serbia and Kosovo renew talks over independence
Long-stalled talks between Serbia and Kosovo were “back on track” after video links between the two leaders.
Avdullah Hoti, Kosovo’s prime minister, and Aleksandar Vučić, the Serbian president, held a virtual meeting chaired by senior EU officials.
Serbia has refused to recognise Kosovo’s declaration of independence after the province broke away during the 1998-99 war. Miroslav Lajčák, an EU special representative, thanked the leaders for “constructive engagement”.
