Memorial opening

sir – Ian Rennardson (Letters, July 18) was unable to visit the Battle of Britain Memorial near Dover on July 14 because of “government guidelines as a consequence of Covid-19”.

I am pleased to say that the memorial reopened to all visitors on Friday July 17 – alas, from Friday to Monday only at present. This is so that we can assess the staff resources we need to be open seven days a week and keep our visitors safe from the virus.
