Bus torched in protest at Ivory Coast president
Campaigners in Ivory Coast set fire to a bus in the city of Abidjan yesterday as part of protests against the president’s decision to seek re-election for a third term.
At least five people have been killed during demonstrations in recent days, with tensions running high since President Alassane Ouattara last week announced he would run in the Oct 31 election.
Opponents said the move violates a constitutional two-term limit.
