LOCKDOWN flouting wedding venues will be named and shamed, a police chief has announced after officers were forced to break up a reception of over 100 guests in Blackburn, Lancs.

Officers from Blackburn and Darwen Police had dispersed the gathering at Waheed’s Buffet and Banquet Hall on Sunday evening. Deputy chief constable Terry Woods said their police force will “name and shame” businesses that breach social distancing guidelines.

He told BBC Lancashire: “As we have said all along, we will enforce, and we did… We know it is hard (for businesses) but what we will do is name and shame ones that flout the regulations to this extent, and there will be consequences.”
