Woman’s headaches due to tapeworms in brain
An Australian woman suffering chronic headaches has made the grisly discovery that they were caused by tapeworms in her brain.
Doctors initially believed the 25-year-old’s pain was caused by a brain tumour, following an MRI scan, according to the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
But during the operation, they discovered a cyst of tapeworm larvae nestling in her brain. She has since made a full recovery from the illness.
