Lost Trust

sir – I quite understand why Alan D Thomas (Letters, September 26) no longer wishes to hand money to a “woke” National Trust.

I wonder if he has discovered, as my wife and I have, that by obtaining an Art Fund card he can visit a sizeable number of its properties free of charge?

He would also gain free or reduced entry to numerous art galleries and exhibitions.

sir – For those who are resigning in disgust from the National Trust, as I did two years ago, the National Trust for Scotland might be of interest.

It has reciprocal rights with the National Trust and membership is slightly cheaper.
