Half of Britons feel less safe than five years ago
A third of people around the world feel less safe than they did five years ago − but in the UK the figure rises to
53 per cent, according to a study.
Climate change figured highly on the list of concerns for British people with 70 per cent saying they considered it to be a very serious threat in the next 20 years, compared to 41 per cent of the global responses.
Prof Richard Clegg, chief executive of the Lloyd’s Register Foundation, which carried out the pre-pandemic poll of 150,000 people across 142 countries, said: “We can use this data to work with communities and empower people to take action most likely to reduce harm.”
