Honey trap killer lured wife’s lover to shooting

A honey trap killer has been found guilty of murdering his wife’s lover and burning his body in an oil drum.

Andrew Jones, 53, found Michael O’leary, 55, was having an affair with his wife Rhianon, 51. Jones made the father-of-three’s disappearance look like suicide and then burnt his friend of 25 years’ remains.

Swansea Crown Court heard Mr O’leary was murdered on Jan 27 after being lured with the promise of a “cwtch” – a cuddle – to Cyncoed Farm in Cwmffrwd, Carmarthenshire, with Mrs Jones. Instead, Jones was crouched behind a dustbin armed with a .22 rifle. Jones, of Bronwydd Road, Carmarthen, will be sentenced later.
