School pupils taken to hospital after eating ‘cannabis ingredient sweets’

-

Sweets eaten by school pupils who fell ill are believed to have contained an ingredient of cannabis. Thirteen teenagers were treated by paramedics at La Sainte Union Catholic School in Highgate, north London, yesterday, then taken to hospital. Police said the sweets are believed to have contained tetrahydrocannabinol, known as THC, an active ingredient of cannabis. Investigations are under way, to establish how much THC was in each sweet, the Metropolitan Police’s Camden branch said, adding that none of the pupils had become “seriously unwell”.
