Robotic rarity

A rare Japanese toy robot has been sold to a private collector in America for £120,000, double its estimate. The batteryoperated 14in Machine Man robot was given to the vendor when he was a child. They were made by Masudaya in 1960 as part of its ‘Gang of Five’ series.

Its ears, eyes and mouth light up while in motion.
