Teenager stalked in missing woman’s area

Residents living close to where a marketing executive disappeared have reported a string of suspicious incidents in recent weeks.

Sarah Everard, 33, went missing as she walked home in Clapham, south London, on Wednesday evening. A police operation is now underway to trace the Durham University graduate.

It has now emerged that there have been three worrying incidents in the local area in recent weeks, including one in which a 14-year-old girl was followed by a man in a van just yards from where Miss Everard was last spotted on CCTV.

One woman reported that she had been chased by a man late at night, while another said that she had been sexually assaulted. A spokesman for Scotland Yard said that Miss Everard’s disappearance was not being linked to any other incidents at this stage.
