England has retained the Camrose Trophy, writes Julian Pottage, Bridge Correspondent, after a closely fought second weekend in which three teams were still in with a chance of winning at the start of the final match. With the event played online on Realbridge, there was no formal dinner at the end of the weekend this year, and the trophies were presented in a Zoom meeting.

Each country won at least one trophy, with matches involving the country having two teams, Wales this year, determined by the aggregate of the two match scores.

Results for the Camrose itself, including scores carried forward from the first weekend, are as follows:

1st England (Shazaad Natt and Ian Pagan, Sally Brock and Barry Myers, Jonathan Cooke and Cameron Small, NPC, Claire Robinson), 130.15 VPS.

2nd Ireland (Ranald Milne and B J O’brien, Micheal O’briain and Padraig O’briain, Derek O’gorman and Terry Walsh, NPC, Peter Goodman), 119.15 VPS.

3rd Wales (Julian Pottage and Tony Ratcliff, Tony Disley and Adrian Thomas, Dafydd Jones and Adam Dunn, NPC, Simon Richards), 107.72 VPS.
