Oscars event in London for British nominees
The Oscars are coming to London as the riverside Southbank centre is set to host British award nominees.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) announced an in-person awards event in Los Angeles with a “no Zoom” policy, but there were concerns nominees outside the US would be unable to attend.
AMPAS is now in talks with the British Film Institute over the use of its cinema at the Southbank for a simultaneous UK event, according to Variety magazine.
The event would enable the numerous British nominees, including Carey Mulligan and Emerald Fennell, to attend on April 26.
